Smith Brothers Stores Merseyside

Smith Brothers Stores Merseyside first opened its doors in 2016 as part of the group’s continued nationwide expansion strategy, establishing a major logistics and distribution hub for the North West region. Since opening, the branch has experienced sustained growth, driven by increasing contractor demand, expanding customer relationships, and the continued development of commercial and industrial projects across Merseyside and the surrounding areas.

To support this continued expansion, the branch has now relocated to a significantly larger and more advanced facility at Unit 2, Derby Road Retail Park in Liverpool’s northern docklands. Relocating across the River Mersey from its former Birkenhead premises, the move marks a major investment in the region and reinforces the company’s long-term commitment to supporting customers throughout the North West. The new site increases operational capacity from 15,000 sq ft to an expansive 21,000 sq ft facility, while also offering substantial future expansion potential to accommodate further stockholding and logistical growth.

Strategically positioned just off Derby Road (A565), the new branch benefits from excellent connectivity into Liverpool city centre as well as direct access to the region’s key motorway and transport infrastructure. Its location enables fast and efficient regional distribution, supporting rapid deliveries and streamlined collections for contractors operating throughout Merseyside, Cheshire, Lancashire, North Wales, and the wider North West corridor.
