Smith Brothers Stores Northampton

Smith Brothers Stores Northampton was established in 1980 as the company’s second branch and marked a major milestone in the group’s history as the first expansion beyond its original Leicester base. Today, the branch operates from a substantial 20,000 sq ft industrial facility on Reynoldston Close within the Brackmills Industrial Estate, serving as a key distribution hub for HVAC, mechanical building services, and commercial pipework solutions across the Midlands.

Strategically positioned with immediate access to the A45 and the M1 motorway corridor, the depot enables fast and efficient regional distribution while avoiding congestion through Northampton town centre. Its strong transport connectivity supports rapid trade-counter collection and dependable direct-to-site deliveries for commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects throughout the region.

Following an early relocation due to local flooding challenges, the branch permanently established itself within its current premises, which has since benefited from significant sustainability-focused investment. The facility incorporates energy-efficient biomass heating and rooftop photovoltaic solar panels, supporting lower-impact operations while maintaining extensive off-the-shelf stockholding for major construction, mechanical services, and district heating projects across the Midlands.
