Smith Brothers Stores Peterborough

Smith Brothers Stores Peterborough joined the group’s national network in 2004 as the third branch, following the strategic acquisition of Apex Tubes and Valves Ltd.

Operating from an 11,000 sq ft industrial facility on Empson Road within the Eastern Industry estate in, the branch is strategically positioned near Junction 7 of the Frank Perkins Parkway (A1139). This well-connected location enables efficient distribution routes while avoiding city-centre congestion, supporting rapid logistics operations across Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Suffolk, and the wider East of England.

The depot acts as a key regional hub for mechanical contractors, HVAC engineers, and district heating installers, with particular expertise in stainless steel products and applications. To meet the increasing demands of fast-paced commercial and industrial infrastructure projects, the site has undergone significant operational upgrades, including the installation of additional mezzanine flooring to further expand local capacity and stockholding capabilities.
